Chocolate Almond Protein Smoothie

What's not to like about chocolate and almonds? Especially when it's transformed into a lovely, decadent, delicious and refreshing summer smoothie! No need to give up treating yourself to your favorite desserts - just create a healthy version that tastes just as good. This is actually one of the best parts about dedicating myself to a healthy lifestyle; remaking typically nutritionless meals into nutritional powerhouses!




Chocolate almond protein smoothie topped with Cocoa Almond Squarebar chunks and crushed almonds. Made for a delightful dessert-for-breakfast meal!

Ingredients:
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder
  • 1/2 tbsp chocolate almond butter (I used Justin's)
  • 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder (could also use cacao powder for more nutritional value)
Directions:
  1. Break frozen banana into four chunks and place in a blender. 
  2. Pour almond milk over banana, then add protein powder, cocoa/cacao powder, and almond butter.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour into a glass and top with anything you'd like (or drink plain!) and enjoy!
