Cocoa-banana-pumpkin ("classic")

Oatmeal has become a staple meal in my house; breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert, oatmeal is always a viable option. There are just so many different ways you can enjoy it, and so many different combinations to love. I may not always be the most creative recipe-maker, but I do know how to make a simple meal into a fun one! The key? ADD SOME GOOD TOPPINGS. It'll change your life. Believe me.

Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree*
  • 1/2 ripe banana
  • 1/3 cup (or until desired consistency) unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder*
Additional toppings (optional):
  • Chocolate Chip BuffBake peanut butter
  • Banana coins
  • Chocolate Coated Coconut Squarebar chunks
Directions:
  1. Add all ingredients into a small-medium microwave-safe bowl and mix until evenly distributed (you may need to mash the banana up a bit as you mix).
  2. Microwave for 45 seconds, stir, then microwave again for 30-45 more seconds.
  3. Top with peanut butter, banana, and Squarebars.
*Note: If you don't have any pumpkin puree or would prefer to make the oats without it, use a whole banana instead of half in order to keep the oatmeal from becoming too dry. Also, you may omit the cocoa powder if you'd like.
